Concert-goers enjoyed picnic food supplied by local merchants.
Audience members were treated to music by the river at the YSOs May 24 concert.
Concert sponsors Eric Dotzauer of the Ypsilanti Depot Town Association, Tom Freeman and Jon Keith of the Washtenaw County Parks and Recreation Commission.
This past Memorial Day weekend, the YSO performed its first-ever outdoor concert at Riverside Park in Ypsilanti. The weather was perfect as the audience enjoyed this musical tribute to the holiday. Plans are already underway for another outdoor concert in 2009.
The concert was co-sponsored by Target Corporation and the Washtenaw County Parks and Recreation Commission.
The YSO was pleased to work with EMU intern Katelyn Bridson this past summer. Katelyn will be graduating in December, 2008, with a B.S. in Public Relations and a Marketing minor. Katelyns accomplishments include serving as Treasurer for the Eastern Michigan University Public Relations Student Society of America, and functioning as an account executive for ExPRessions Public Relations, a student-run public relations firm. Katelyn is from South Lyon, Michigan. The YSO greatly appreciates Katelyns contributions!
