Our Mission

The mission of the Ypsilanti Symphony Orchestra is to enhance the cultural lives of the residents of Ypsilanti and the surrounding communities by providing an orchestra of the highest artistic caliber. Seeking to share the joy of symphonic music in all its richness and diversity, the YSO continues to explore new directions in music; welcoming new composers and guest artists, broadening the range of music presented, and expanding the talent within the orchestra. Through innovative programming, community outreach, and arts advocacy, the orchestra continues to encourage the musical growth of its amateur and professional members, and actively contributes to music appreciation and education in area schools.
